Hadjara might not like his more irrational, irritating side but at least she was willing to put up with it. Not that she had a lot of choice right now; he was literally the only person in this entire dimension that she could talk to and she also wouldn't know the way back to the Portal if she stormed away from him, so at least Gabriel could indulge in his irrational homicidality with minimal fear of repercussions. Except maybe a wing to the face if he really annoyed her - she seemed to be fond of that particular reaction these days.
"You have, yes, but I'm not feeling all that self-controlled just at the moment," he grinned, certain in his assurance that Hadjara would deal with his bad behaviour just fine, since otherwise surely she wouldn't be doing that with her tail right now.
He would have dragged her closer after she kissed him, and in all likelihood completely forgotten about the fact that they were supposed to be looking for clothes, except when she pulled away she was slippery from the oil and impossible to hold still.
"Hey! Oh, never mind." Grumbling under his breath as he got out of the water once her back was coated with the plant oils, Gabriel shot her a dark look while fighting to get his arousal under control. Tease. He'd have to get her back for that later. Fortunately he actually did have more self-control than he'd implied before, mostly because they'd just eaten and he was drained from the bath rather than because he had that much of an interest in finding new clothes. He was looking forward to exploring Ngar'li some more though, and seeing whether the places he remembered from his childhood still existed.
Hadjara, however, was successfully dragged from the water by the mention of clothes, and with far less resistance than Gabriel had expected - which probably meant Malak had something to do with it. He knew the adumbrate was weirdly obsessed with fashion so that was a pretty likely explanation for why Hadjara was out of the water, albeit reluctantly and now in an irritable mood. As for himself, his own irritation was forgotten and he grinned, tugging on his pants and rubbing most of the water out of his hair, leaving it damp, shiny and dark against the silvery sheen of his skin.
"Fancy and expensive," he assured her, because he was intrigued by the idea of finding something for himself that suited Ngar'li a little better and when he stole things he always went for high quality, that same appreciation for luxury kicking in again.
"So what'll it be? Naked, wings, or invisible?" He was ready to go and he waited impatiently for Hadjara to get herself sorted.
