Aquatic Dragons
Status: Semi-sentient, cannot be tamed (Must be bonded and/or trust must be gained; may be gifted as well.) Eggs and infants may be taken at character creation. Adults must be acquired in game.
-As the name suggests, they are aquatic creatures that prefer to be in large masses of water rather than on land.
-They have webbed-clawed feet, thick and long tails, a small set of horns, and a deadly set of teeth. Their frame is very feline-like, but their legs are rather stumpy.
-The wing set that Aquatic Dragons have are only used to help propel themselves underwater. They cannot fly.
-The color variation on Aquatic Dragons has a broad range: Their body tone can be bronze, teal, black, or white. The markings that may have all consist of cool colors (any variation of blue, green, purple).
-These creatures have a large variety of size. Most are about 12'-15' height wise, and 22'-25' length wise. They can be as large as 30' in height and 40' in length or as small as 1' in height and 3' in length.
-These dragons will only trust and bond with the fae. In order for any other species to gain one as a companion, it must be gifted. Once it trusts someone, it will go out of its comfort zone and go on land.
- The easiest way to bond with one is to be the very first thing seen when it hatches from an egg. The only other way to be bonded with an Aquatic Dragon is if it chooses to bond with someone.
-The difference between the two is: If a fae dies with a bonded Aquatic Dragon, it will die with the fae. It will risk its life to save its companion, no matter what. If an aquatic dragon only trusts the fae, then it will not die and may only briefly be stricken with grief (this goes for any other species that is gifted an aquatic dragon as well).
-They are seen in the Forest of Fae and at the base of the Cliffs of Heaven; around large lakes. They are also seen in the marshes (rarely). None whatsoever live in the Boil.
-Aquatic dragons are not hoarders.
-Aquatic dragons actually do NOT live in the water. They live in caves that may only be accessed by water. However, they can breathe underwater and their diet mainly consists of anything in it (that may include any species that goes for a swim or a bath).
-Though they live in under water cavers, Aquatic Dragons actually lay their eggs elsewhere, usually on the bank of whatever body of water that they live in.
-They are not aggressive creatures unless provoked. To gain its trust, all one must do is be gentle, kind, and considerate. A bonded dragon will, however, become aggressive towards whomever is threatening its companion and may even become jealous sometimes.
-Their egg clutches range from 5-6 every year. Only 3 or 4 survive from hatching, and only 2 or less make it to full maturity.
-Full brain maturity for these creatures is 20 years of age. They may reach their full body size at the age of ten.
-They can live up to an average of 793 years.
-They breathe boiling-hot water.
