The Omri Estates
Many years ago this estate, located in the noble district of the City, was inhabited by the Omri family. While the family of Sky Mage warriors lived, the house was quite enviable. The house was located on a sizable plot of land and surrounded by rich and lush gardens and blocked off from the rest of the world by a high stone wall and three wrought iron gates. There was a main structure where the Omri family lived, as well as a few smaller building surrounding the estate whose use changed as time passed.
All this changed when the Omri family, their servants, and all their guests at the time were massacred in their beds many years ago. After the bodies were removed, the estate was locked up and the keys to the gates are kept in some forgotten vault within the Ice Castle. Inside the walls, nothing has been cared for since the slaughter. The house has fallen into a state of disarray, nature has worn and rotted the house and there is even scorch marks in the west wing from a fire that started after a lightning strike. The once gorgeous gardens have become overrun and wild, in some places they are beginning to resemble a forest.
Like any abandoned structure, looters have come but none have taken anything. Everyone (aside from the soldiers sent to look, of course) have fled from the house, claiming that it is haunted. The claims of haunting are always different, some say they saw objects levitating, some say they saw an army of ghostly men on undead horses, and a few even claim that a tree in front of the house was filled with twenty bodies, all hanging from noose.
Most stories are dismissed as nonsense but almost everyone who goes near the gates feels a feeling of tragedy and forebode, and those who enter feel it even more intensely so few people would claim that there is truly nothing wrong with the house. And there is always one consistency in all the reports of haunting. A small girl, who looks to be around eight years old with long golden locks and brilliant blue eyes appears in all of the tales. She has a white ribbon in her hair and is always wearing a white nightgown with a bloody hole in her stomach where her guts are poking through.
Some people believe that she is the spirit of the girl Lolicia Omri, daughter of Ezer and Devi Omri. She was awake when the men came to kill her family, and was near the door when they entered. The story goes that she ran to wake the others and was then first to die so the killers of her family still had the element of surprise. It is said, by those who believe that it really is Lolicia’s ghost, that the girl is still trying to protect her family and, even though they are all dead, she still waits for their return.
