Above: A view of the city.
All fae are to be executed on sight. That has become one of the most important laws of the city. Aiding a fae or even ignoring one could result in a death sentence. The fae are considered to be very evil spirits that must be eliminated. They are children stealers and have no sense of morality. Ironically, part of that is true. The fae may not even enter the city as a slave.
Speaking of slaves, The City offers the most profit to the slave traders from the Southern Boil. It has become fashionable to keep shapeshifter “pets”. Occasional, other human may be sold into slavery as well. This may be done with criminals or by poor families. Daemons may occasionally be found at the slave trade, but this is a rarity. More likely than not it will be the daemons selling the slaves.
The City is more or less split in four parts. The area by the castle is owned by the rich. One would never run across a beggar there. Thieves tend to be executed rather than punished in accordance with the law. The City of Thieves lies to the fae east of the City. This land is so derelict and dangerous, even the hounds (Litharian guards) pay their respects to the king of thieves.
Directly west of the city of thieves is the red light district. This area is built solely for entertainment. Whorehouses and gambling houses line the road. Every unsavory act can be found here. Everything is for sale. Rich men and poor men alike can be found wandering this area. It is the place where scandals are born. The rest of the City is middle class. There is the market and the bathhouses and temples, but mostly it is boring (but not without its own dangers!).
