The Magical Abilities of the Fae
To create a new ability for the list, PM an admin with the following:

Sky Fairies
At character creation, choose one of the following:
Flying: The character is able to fly normally without limitations. However they are unable to carry anything heavier than their overall weight.
Air Sense: The character is highly sensitive to the movement of air currents and movement. With a higher post count, this ability can be used to sense disturbances created by those using invisibility or other hiding abilities.
At 50 posts, choose one of the following:
Sky reader: The character is able to read signs in the sky of impending weather with great accuracy, up to three days in advance.
Air Bending: The character can manipulate molecules in the air to become invisible. This can be countered by an ability that also allows air control and a higher post count.
At 100 posts, choose one of the following:
Sonic Boom: The user can create a sonic boom that bursts the eardrums of anyone standing within three metres of them and knocks over anyone standing within ten metres of them. Those affected by burst eardrums will have severely reduced hearing for the next eight posts unless countered by an ability that protects the senses.
At 150 posts, choose one of the following:
Weather Summoner: The user can summon any localised weather event in a fifteen metre radius around their person. They are always at the centre (or eye) of the weather event so are not harmed by their own magic, however than cannot control they direction of the weather event (for example, they do not control where lightning strikes or the direction of a tornado).
At 200 posts, choose one of the following:
Gust: The character can control the wind to create powerful gusts of air and even small tornados. They are able to control the direction of these for up to four posts before requiring a rest.
At 250 posts, choose one of the following:
Emotional Weather: The character’s emotions will influence the weather within sight of the character. If they are happy it will be sunny; if they are sad it will rain, and anger will cause storms. This ability is subconscious and cannot be controlled.
At 300 posts, choose one of the following:
Fog Summoner: The character can summon and control a very thick, cold fog to almost completely eliminate sight. The fog is so thick it can’t be cleared except by someone with a wind-based power and a higher post count.
At 350 posts, choose one of the following:
Electric Feel: The character can electrically charge their entire body for the duration of four posts, so that anyone touching them will receive a severe electrical shock. This will incapacitate normally, but if the person is wearing anything metallic, especially iron, it has a 20% chance of causing death.
At 400 posts, choose one of the following:
Lightning Strike: The character can summon a single bolt of lightning to hit another character. This has a 30% chance of causing death. If the character survives it will cause severe burns and pain. This attack can only be dodged by someone with a higher post count and a counter-ability. One use per thread.

Fire Fairies

Heat Immunity: The character will feel normal until over one hundred seventy degrees. Anything more will be only slightly uncomfortable.

Water Fairies
At character creation, choose one of the following:
Cold Immunity: The character will feel normal until ten degrees below freezing. Anything colder than that will only be a little uncomfortable at worst.
At 50 posts, choose one of the following:
Water Summoner: The character can create up to 5 litres of water from nothing.
At 100 posts, choose one of the following:
Water States: The character can shift any body of water, up to 500 litres, between the three states (solid – ice, liquid – water and gas – vapour) at will.
At 150 posts, choose one of the following:
Water Bender: The character can control and manipulate any existing body of water, up to 200 litres.
At 200 posts, choose one of the following:
Boiling Point: The character can boil any existing body of water in under a minute, and can direct and manipulate the steam produced at will.
At 250 posts, choose one of the following:
Desiccation: Given time and direct contact with an object containing water, including living creatures, the character can slowly draw the water out of the object. The speed of desiccation depends on the size of the object; complete desiccation for a humanoid should take around an hour. The character can collect the water from the object and store it elsewhere.
At 300 posts, choose one of the following:
Ice Bender: The character can control and manipulate any existing body of ice, up to the equivalent of 200 litres.
At 350 posts, choose one of the following:
Water Seer: The character can communicate with others by transferring their image through any two bodies of still water. The character may also use this ability to see possible future events in still water, although this requires time and intense concentration.
At 400 posts, choose one of the following:
Flood: The character can summon a raging flood within their line of sight. They are as vulnerable to this flood as anyone else and have no control over the direction or power of the water once summoned. The flood lasts for eight to ten posts before subsiding quite quickly. One use per thread.

Earth Fairies

Wood Elves
At character creation, choose one of the following:
Marionette: Allows the user to animate an object no bigger than a house cat for a period of maximum one hour.
Expert Marksman: The character rarely ever misses a target with a bow and arrow unless he/she is aiming for someone with a higher post count, heightened agility, or a counter ability.
Infrared- The Character can detect the presence of other life forms in a one mile circumference.
At 50 posts, choose one of the following:
Flesh Wound: Allows the user to close a flesh wound. Only allows for one wound within an hour long period.
At 100 posts, choose one of the following:
Wound Displacement: The character is able to transfer the wounds off a sufferer to their own bodies or transfer the wounds onto another person.
At 150 posts, choose one of the following:
Shifting Sensations: The character is able to take away another’s senses and bestow them on themselves for five posts. The ability can only work if the victim is within a twenty foot radius. Can be countered by those with a higher post count or counter ability.
At 200 posts, choose one of the following:
Evolutionary Immunity: The character develops a resistance or immunity to whatever they are injured by or exposed to. Each time the character is exposed to what wounded them, they become resistant to the origin of their injury for the remainder of the thread. This includes magical abilities and poisons, but does not include physically-wounding weapons. Characters with higher post counts are still able to inflict harm upon the user through the magical ability, but not through poisons or potions. The attacking ability is less effective based on a lower difference in post counts.
At 250 posts, choose one of the following:
Tree Sense: The character can communicate with any tree and have them do their bidding. Only trees in the Forest of the Fae can be uprooted and move, however regular trees can gain the ability to move their branches at the character’s will.
At 300 posts, choose one of the following:
Absorb: The character can absorb the effects of magic used against them and then immediately turn it back on the caster. Can only be used once per thread.
At 350 posts, choose one of the following:
Merging: The character has the ability to merge two living things, including sentient beings, into one. The amalgamated creature is usually unstable and therefore splits back into two normal parts between seven and ten posts. Can be countered by a character with a higher post count and a counter ability that inhibits physical manipulation or mental/emotional merging with another character.
At 400 posts, choose one of the following:
Organic Alteration: The character is able to alter a human’s biological make-up. This includes altering immunity to diseases, healing speed, metabolism, homeostasis, and even genetic or molecular characteristics. This ability normally takes a few days to affect the recipient and causes the user growing pain throughout their body as the change or changes are maintained. If the power is used repeatedly over a long period of time, the receiver may become immune to the ability and become able to reverse the effects. Otherwise the changes made by the power reverse after a month. This ability can only affect one character at a time.

Light Elves
At character creation, choose one of the following:
Starburst: The user emits light from their form like a flashlight.
At 50 posts, choose one of the following:
Mirror: The user can mimic the likeness of a person. Upon physical contact, the illusion will disappear. This can be countered with a counter ability or a higher post count.
Spark: A shock of electricity is sent to someone, enough to paralyze them temporarily (for a couple seconds). The electricity is generated from the body, and therefore uses up energy with each use.
At 100 posts, choose one of the following:
Shock: A more powerful form of Spark. It has a range of about five feet and can paralyze the target for one minute. However, it is extremely hard to control, so it may not always hit the intended target. It also consumes much more energy than Spark.

Spirit Elves
At character creation, choose one of the following:
Medium: Allows the user to talk to and hear ghosts, but not see them.
At 50 posts, choose one of the following:
Spirit Summoner: The character can summon a ghost familiar. Once summoned the familiar can stay with the character most of the time but must return to the Spirit world at least once per day, for an hour. The familiar can turn themselves visible or invisible to others at will, but can only become solid for those with Spirit or Death affinities.
At 100 posts, choose one of the following:
Advanced Medium: The character can see ghosts (which will look transparent) and can summon specific ghosts if they know their full name. The character can assist these ghosts to become visible and audible to other characters for the duration of one thread, as long as this ability is combined with the basic Medium ability. Summoned ghosts retain ghost-like properties such as passing through solid objects.
At 150 posts, choose one of the following:
Invisibility: The user can become invisible at will. During the time that they are invisible the real-world will change for the user, appearing grey, frightening and ghost-like.
At 200 posts, choose one of the following:
Haunting: The user can project a ghostly avatar of themselves across any distance to be seen by another person whose name they know. The ghost will look and sound like the user and can deliver messages. It can only be seen by the person it is intended for.
At 250 posts, choose one of the following:
Ghost-Like: The user can take on the properties of ghosts including transparency, floating, moving through solid objects, and chilling a room.

Spirit Walker: The user can cross to the world of Spirit, taking one other living being with them if they choose to do so. Spending too much time in Spirit can cause one to forget they are living, so this ability should be used with caution.

Night Elves

Night Vision: Allows the character to see in complete darkness.
At 50 posts, choose one of the following:
Gaze of the Void: Allows the user to strike fear in the hearts of any character with a lower post count just by looking at them. This fear will physically and mentally incapacitate unless they have some sort of counter ability.
At 100 posts, choose one of the following:
Dark Glean: By locking gazes with a victim, the user can discover all of the victim's fears (the victim, if a playable character, must include the fears within the next post unless they have a counter ability and a higher post count).
At 150 posts, choose one of the following:
Visions of The Darkest Night: The victim will see the user as their darkest fear. On the occasion that the fear is not a solid form, the feeling gleaned from fear afflicts them.
At 200 posts, choose one of the following:
Blackout: Causes and area 20 feet in radius to be plunged into sudden darkness, impenetrable by conventional means.

Mammalian Changelings

Immunity to Cold: Grants the character immunity to frostbite and they can comfortably handle much lower temperatures than usual.
Master Thief: The character may pick ANY lock unless it is locked by magic from a character with a higher post count.
Beast Master: The character can easily soothe and tame any non-sentient, non-magical animal, or magical animals with comparable taming requirements to regular animals.
Gaping Wound: Using claws and/or teeth, the character may inflict wounds that take twice as long to heal and are twice a likely to get infected. All such wounds should be treated by a healer.

Leap: The character can jump incredible lengths, generally doubling their normal jumping ability. They can jump up to 5 feet in the air, 6-8 feet across at a stand, and 12-20 feet across if they are running.
Communicate: The character is able to speak with the animal species that he/she is associated with (the character is not able to control nor convince the animal to assist the character though).

Aquatic Changelings

Gills: If the character does not have a set of gills, this ability grants him/her the ability to breathe underwater for up to one hour before needing to return to the surface.

Echolocation: This character can navigate areas without the use of sight. Any time he or she makes a sound, they should get a good look at the environment. More practiced noises work better.
Communicate: The character is able to speak with the animal species that he/she is associated with (the character is not able to control nor convince the animal to assist the character though).
At 100 posts, choose one of the following:
Aurora: The character creates a field of rainbow light which slowly freezes anything inside of it.
At 150 posts, choose one of the following:
Deep Sea Diver: The character is able to hold their breath indefinitely, and withstand pressures and cold far beyond average. This applies to out-of-water situations as well.
Soothing Note: This allows the user to comfort, reassure, and gain the trust of the creatures he/she is magically connected to whether they be wild or tame.
At 200 posts, choose one of the following:
Slippery Scale Armor: Scales will grow over the character's skin when hit with magic, reflecting it at the user. Cannot block magic from a character with a higher post count.
Rough Scale Armor: Scales will grow over the character's skin when attacked with any physical object, preventing harm.
At 250 posts, choose one of the following:
Sonar Screech: A screech which will paralyze those who hear it for up to a minute, deafen for up to an hour, and create a perfect image if the character uses it with Echolocation. Can be countered through ear protection.

Battle Muses

Melee Finesse: The character is a natural with any melee weapon and can only be disarmed by a character with this ability and a higher post count.
At 50 posts, choose one of the following:
Grappling Finesse: The character can beat anyone at grappling unless the opponent has this ability and a higher post count.
At 100 posts, choose one of the following:
Strength: The character can lift up to a ton with effort.
At 150 posts, choose one of the following:
Blurred Speed: The character can move so quickly that he or she becomes a blur. This character will be faster than anyone unless they possess this or a similar ability as well as a higher post count.
At 200 posts, choose one of the following:
Battle Seer: The character may predict an opponent's next move. The character must consciously activate this ability.
At 250 posts, choose one of the following:
Battle Cry: The character possesses a battle cry that strikes fear into every enemy heart while giving hope and courage to all allies. This ability will infect entire armies.
At 300 posts, choose one of the following:
Perfect Warrior: The character is immune to physical and mental distraction while in battle. This includes fear and illusions. If the opponent is using magic to create a distraction, the higher post count wins.
At 350 posts, choose one of the following:
Impervious: The character is immune to all harm. This ability may only be activated once per battle and it will end the moment the character kills a single enemy.
At 400 posts, choose one of the following:
Infect: By seeing the character in action, all allies may gain the battle affinity abilities for the duration of the fight.

Bardic Muses

Bardic Charm: A hypnotic ability that draws people to the user. It is not complete mind control, but the victim feels as if whatever the user is suggesting is something that they really should do. It does not work on others with this ability, and those with a higher post count.
