Name: Naine
Nickname(s): Loon by members of The Song only
Played by: Flo
Age: 17
Date of Birth: May 26th
Sexuality: Pansexual
Lumen: Deathshade
Abilities: Fade-the ability to become less perceivable
Iron Aura: As long as she carries her deer horn knives on her person, Naine can access the ability "Iron Aura". This allows her to extend the aura of iron around her person to a distance of five metres. If any Fae are within this radius their flesh will be burned as though they were experiencing direct contact with iron. Any Fae within twenty metres of Naine using this ability will feel weakened. Can be countered with an ability that protects against iron exposure if the Fae character has a higher post count.
Secondary Abilities: Scattered Chaos- The ability to sense conflict and discern its origin within an area. The stronger the conflict, the farther it can be felt, and within 50ft the origin of said conflict can be determined, (eg. a troubled city would give off a wave that can be felt a mile off, where some bickering between husband and wife could only be felt within the 50ft limit).
Loyalty: To Emon and The Song of Heroes
Status/Occupation: Second in Command of The Song of Heroes
Pet: As a gift from fate, Naine has acquired a baby Ice dragon who is just one year old. He is not big enough to carry anyone, and cannot yet breathe blue fire, but he can give off a cold gust of wind that can injure an opponent. He is mostly white, with a purple tint which is especially noticeable around his wings. He has been given the name Boreas.
(For those who wish to know the origins behind the name, Boreas is the purple winged Greek God of the North Wind; also known as the God of Winter, whose breath would bring about an icy gale)
Appearance. Naine is at an average height of 5'6 with fiery red hair and golden eyes. She is pale, though not deathly so and often has a blank stare which is rather unnerving. She cannot show emotion.
Personality: None-or so it seems. Naine was "born" into Litharia without emotions. Still, she always tried to stay out of trouble for Emon's sake.
History: Naine can still remember the day she was "born." She had just appeared and had no clue where she was. There was a boy there was well. He was scared, confused and he was approaching her. She just watched and waited for him. She had assumed he was harmless, but what she didn't expect was for him to be scared of her. After looking at her face, his eyes had widened and he had run away. Naine didn't move.
A group of men clad in black had come and one of them, presumably the leader, had started shouting words at her that she didn't understand. She wasn't scared. In fact, she couldn't feel anything other than the cold of the early morning and the dirt under her feet. He poked his finger into her chest, hard. It hurt. She didn't cry.
She just watched the man as he said something to his men, making them laugh. He then drew his sword and swung.
Naine did not get injured though. For the boy who had run away had seen the men and saved her, getting cut in the process. Instinctively Naine grabbed his hand and ran as fast as she could, dragging the injured boy behind her until she as sure they were safe. Then the boy collapsed.
That was the night that Emon lost his left eye.
They traveled together from then on, sometimes stopping in places for a while. Emon made a friend at one point who had taught him to speak, to read, and even to write. That was the longest they ever stayed in one place, and Naine could not be sure what happened to the friend. She would never know either, for she never met him. She only listened to Emon's stories and lessons as he taught her what had been taught to him.
Emon eventually bought a sword and practiced with it every day. Naine wanted to do the same, but Emon never let her. He thought she would hurt herself, she knew she would not. He also never let her go into town with him, sure that she would attract trouble. When he finally did give into her complaints about never going into town, she managed to buy herself a dagger.
She practiced with the dagger every night, when Emon was asleep. He never knew she had one. At least, not until recently.
Years passed as they struggled to survive. Their travels eventually brought them upon The Song of Heroes. Emon wanted to leave right away, but Naine refused to. And so their new life began.
Roleplay Sample: (Naine's first day in a market)
It was her first time having been around so many people and she walked slowly so that she might take everything in. Emon was getting nervous already, she could tell. She wasn't doing anything wrong, just looking. It was his fault she hadn't been to a place like this anyways. He really did worry too much.
"Hurry up, Naine," he said, looking around nervously. Naine ignored him. How could she possibly hurry up when there was so much she didn't understand about this place?
Naine stopped short and sniffed the air. Something smelled delicious. It had been such a very long time since she had eaten any decent food and so she followed the scent to a stand where they sold fresh baked sweets. Pies, cakes, sweet breads. They all smelled wonderful.
"I don't serve your kind," growled the owner of the cart. His eyes were beady and black, his beard long, and he had a huge frame.
"How much are these?" Naine asked, pointing to a tray of tarts.
"Maybe you didn't hear me the first time. You can't have any, now scram before I make you."
Naine just stared at the man, trying to figure him out. Humans angered so easily and she had no clue why. It's not like she did anything wrong, and she had been willing to pay.
"Don't you give me that look, girl. Get lost!" He swung his arm at her as though swatting a fly.
"I only have one look," Naine said flatly, which was true. "I can't change my face."
The large man almost turned purple with fury and charged after her with a large rolling pin in his hand. Just as he swung she felt Emon grab her hand and start running. She fell in step with him in no time and the fled the marketplace.
"I can't take you anywhere!" Exclaimed Emon angrily. "You are not going into town ever again!"
"I am," Naine returned. "You cannot stop me. I am going where I wish, whether you are coming with me or not. You had best decide which it is." Naine was very intimidating, especially since she never got angry. Her voice was flat and strong.
Emon had no choice but to give in.
