Time after time as we march side by side
Through the valleys of evil and the torturing souls,
Night after night, for the glory we fight,
In the kingdom of madness and the tales from the old
Name: Alistair Theoden
Nickname(s): None
Played by: Draconis
Age: 34
Date of Birth: December 4th
Theme Song: Cry Thunder by Dragonforce
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Practice: Warrior
Abilities:
Swordplay Finesse- Alistair can only lose a sword fight to a character with a sword fighting ability with a higher post count.
Loyalty: Theoden household, humans, companions, the Crown
Status/Occupation: Captain of the Royal Guard/Second in command of the King's forces
Death by our hands, for the higher command,
As the darkness surrounds us hear the cries as they fall
Fire burning steel and the tyrants will kneel
Hearts burning stronger with the power of the sword
Appearance:
General Features; Alistair is almost 6'0 in height. He has a lean, muscular build with a facial structure with a wide chin, a chiseled jaw-line, and a thick neck. His cheek bones are wide with sunken in cheeks, giving them a somewhat bony appearance. With his gracian nose shape (narrow nostrils and a pointed tip), his entire facial features can easily be described as masculine in appearance. Being one of the best swordsmen in the King's forces, Alistair is heavily muscled throughout most of his body and is covered in scars from both battle and training. He is a handsome man with golden-brown skin. He holds the posture that a noble man would.
Hair; Alistair likes it short. The front end tend to stick up or out most of the time. That is the only part that tends to drive him mad as the rest of it is usually well groomed. His sweet latte colored hair (dark beige brown) is luxuriant and easy to take care of. Alistair constantly gets the local barber to keep his hair clean cut and admirable.
Not only is his hair well kept, but so is the full goatee that he keeps in check that covers all of his chin. His eyebrows are low-arched, which helps give off a more seemingly serious demeanor.
Eyes; They are hazel like any other warrior's eye colors. Under bright rays of light, they seem to be more grayish-blue to green. With no extra lighting, Alistair's eyes appear more brown with blue towards the outer edges. Then around fires or candlelight, they may sometimes seem more green or grey. His eyes are almond in shape and express a great deal of emotion whereas his body language may not.
Clothing; The clothes he wears consists of nicely made tabards, tunics, dress shirts, and robes. When doing more straining work, Alistair's attire is much more simple and may consist of harem pants imported from the Boil, linen shirts and hard leather boots. For more formal events, Alistair wears his seemingly golden-shaded event armor, a set that comes with a cape and waist cloth. This set is namely for appearances' sake in formal events. As for battle, Alistair has a wide range of apparel from different leathers, to chainmail armor, to even beautiful, intimidating, and full sets of plate. One of his favorite sets is similar to chainmail but is scale-like in shape and is known as scale-mail.
Weapons; Like his armor, Alistair has a variety of weapon, each one a type of artifact that allows him to access his magical capabilities. His most preferred weapon of choice as well as the one is has master is sword and board. Sword being a long, hardened steel sword and board being a beautiful, kite-shape steel shield that displays his family's two reef heraldry.
Pets:
Brax; Brax is Alistair's trusty, loyal, and massive war hound. He is a male that has imprinted with Alistair and has been trained for all forms of fighting. That and the hound is actually quite smart and enjoys the company of women and children, but not so much other men besides his master.
Cry thunder!
Sword in his hand,
Titans of justice, fearless we stand
Cry thunder!
Strong in command
Blessed by the union, freedom of man
Personality:
Charismatic; Alistair really enjoys other people and their company. Whether they be rich, poor, or in between, he's never too afraid to strike up conversation with someone, even if that someone else is another species. He holds no real vendetta against any other species, including the fae, but merely listens to what his superiors (royalty) command. He is known to be a friend of the common folk. A few might actually define him as a bit awkward, and if he is unsure of what to say or do in a conversation that does not involve commands or military tactics, he is a bit.
Indecisive; One of his biggest flaws, Alistair always gets a second opinion on orders or ideas from sensible soldiers or, if possible, one of his superiors. Occasionally he even goes to his family to help him with certain decisions. The results have a reputation for ending up to work out extremely well or good enough to where he can counter any problems that might arise.
Hardened; Alistair grew up as a rather soft-hearted boy. He was the sort that wanted to avoid all politics as much as possible, even in his teen and young adult years. It was through the harsh lessons of his adoptive father that turned the soft-hearted boy into a man that could hold his own in debates and deal in politics with results.
Compassionate; Even as a man that has to make a lot of harsh decisions in his occupation, and despite being hardened to keep personal feelings out of most politics, Alistair is a very sweet man. He holds compassion for those that need it and uses it in order to understands the "other side of the story". Alistair cares deeply for a number of things and, though some mock him for this, is actually quite strong willed and hardy.
Sarcastic; He is quite humorous with a witty tongue. Alistair has no shortage of playful sarcasm in his conversations. Mostly it is for humor and fun, but at times he may use it in a more irritated manor that may make him come off as angry, annoyed, irritated, or upset. Still, any who take his sarcasm too seriously may constantly find themselves "offended" quite often around him.
Reckoning day, for the demons we slay,
With the force of a dragon we will conquer them all!
Chaos still reigns devastation and flames
For the ultimate glory when the legacy calls
History:
Alistair never knew his true mother or father. He was an orphan. The day he was born was the day his mother and father died. His mother died in childbirth and his father, struck with grief, hung himself. They were not nobility, but were actually of the middle class. Before his father had committed suicide however, the man had left Alistair in one of the soldier's stables closer to the castle. He wanted the boy to be found and to have a life and figured that having a soldier or a stable boy find the babe was the best way for that to happen. Since they died, no one, not even the man who ended up adopting Alistair, knew who his parents were, whether they were alive or dead, and what class they were a part of.
The man who did end up finding Alistair was a nobleman in the King's army. His name was Eamon. Eamon and his wife, Celsei, were only able to conceive one child and no more. Their oldest son was a spoiled rotten, arrogant child that Eamon was disappointed to call his son. He had wanted another, but never received one. Not still he found the babe in the barn and named him Alistair. Eamon took him in as his own and treated him as such from that point forward.
For years, Eamon formed his adopted son into the son he had always wanted. Alistair was disciplined, obedient, and respectful, everything that his "brother" was not. No one but Eamon and Celsei knew that he was not their true son, and any who questioned ended up believing that Alistair was just kept hidden in order to fashion him into the young gentleman he became. Celsei was not as happy as Eamon was, however. She and her true son, Cailan, were actually quite jealous. When Eamon was sent to battle, Alistair was declared as her "first born" and was sent off to the King's army. Alistair believed that this was rather cruel and questioned his mother. She ended explaining how much she despised him. In the end, he learned that he was not truly a part of their family and ended up storming out of the house to join the army as she had intended him to, believing that Eamon took part in the whole ordeal and that the man no longer wanted him.
Alistair's focus became swordsman ship. He wanted to be the best swordsman anyone had seen. He wanted to prove to Eamon and Celsei that he was worthy enough to be their son. And for a good number of years, Alistair never returned home. He stayed at the barraks and trained with all the effort in his bones. Nothing would make him loose his focus, not even when Eamon came to visit. Every time, Alistair would deny him. It was not till Alistair went past being a grunt, to a Captain, that he finally had the gall to return home. It took some time, but Celsei finally came to accept him as did Eamon come to forgive him. Eamon decided to further his son's knowledge by getting him into politics as well.
Things only got better from there. Alistair got his very own Mabari that he named Brax. After not only receiving recognition for his integrity and fighting prowess, Alistair became a Royal Guard and was named by Eamon the son to receive the Theoden's estate, lands, and money when his father passed. With a few more years of training, Alistair was then named the Commander of the Royal Guard after the passing of the previous one.
