Appearance (Human)
In human form, Akira was graced with a willowy frame, standing at 5 feet 9 1/2 inches tall with mocha colored skin. Her shoulders are rather broad, and is paired the dark chocolate-colored hair that rolls down to her mid-back. Most of the time, her hair is pulled up in a high side ponytail which removes the hair that so often gets in her face. However, sometimes stray pieces escape, leaving her hair to sometimes stick up awkwardly around the top of her head. Also, some may say that parts of her hair (mostly on the back of her head) seem to resemble feathers, however, Akira denies all accusations as such and deals them frivolous discrepancies. The woman's eyes are large and unusually round, making her look highly attentive, and are colored with a backdrop of dark orange, topped by a star burst of green around the iris and red flecks sprinkled throughout her eyes. They look bizarre, but they're one of the girl's defining features, and they rest above sharp cheekbones.
On a normal, day to day basis, Akira prefers to wear a loose-fitting pair of plain brown or black trousers, topped normally by a forest green, grey, brown, or black long-sleeved tunic. Ocassionally she'll wear a dress, but most of the time the girl likes to dress comfortably so it's easier to travel about.
Appearance (Northern Goshawk)
When in her true form, Akira appears as a large northern goshawk (1, 2, 3). Her eyes change color to a deep red, as normal for the species, though they remain larger than most in the species. The pattern of her feathers is stripped, except black is the more dominant color. Otherwise, she looks like a normal northern goshawk; and despite her size and eye differences Akira is nearly indistinguishable from another of her breed.
Personality
History
Born on a chilly day in May, Akira was the product of excellence. Or at least, that's how her parents spun it. Both of her parent's were merchants, and both happened to be the exact same breed as she. It was of no coincidence that their true forms were the exact same, as Akira's parent's were thrown together by their parents, and their parents were the same. So on and so forth. However, Akira was always too free-spirited for such notions of arranged marriages, and was opposed to it from a very young age. Despite this looming over her head most of the time, she had a relatively good childhood; despite turning into a hawk every month. Her family managed to keep it secret from the predominantly human village they lived in. While not wholeheartedly respected due to their status as merchants, her family was left alone and in peace for a very long time.
Such things are not generally made to last, however, and soon rumors spread throughout the village of a family of shapeshifters living there. This was bad news to the Corvi family, however they decided to stay simply because they couldn't risk to move for Akira's sake; who at the time was only seven years old. Her parents decided that she simply wasn't ready, or stable enough, for a change that momentous. So, they did nothing but sit around and wait for it to pass. Except it didn't, and unfortunatly for them Akira was quite the rambuncious child. When playing with others, the girl would often risk her health over a particular matter or the other, as her pride wouldn't allow her to accept defeat. It was one of such times when Akira risked her very own life, and she nearly lost it. It happened because of a dare by a neighbor child, who said that there was no way a girl could leap across the ravine, which was about 26 feet deep.
Of course, Akira couldn't let the slight pass, and she marched to the ravine post-haste, the neighbourhood boys following behind her like a parade. As soon it was in sight, she took off in a run. It was quit the sight, seeing the short girl in her skirts bounding about with wild-abandon, the group of boys tailing behind her whilst letting out shouts and hollers. However, the sight didn't last long; and the girl tripped just before she was about to leap. The result was a roll into the ravine, and a passed out northern goshawk resting on the bottom.
The news of her being a shapeshifter swept like a fire throughout the village, and though Akira made it home safely (and eventually woke up) there was trouble brewing in the town. Soon, angry citezens trashed the families stores, and then came to their house itself. They demanded that the Corvi's leave town, or suffer other, more cruel consequences. Not wanting to put Akira in any more danger, they decided to pack up and leave. As such, the girl grew uo traveling; and also with a deep dislike for the inequality between the races. She decided to do her best to unite them together, or at least calm down the harsh disrepencies the races threw at one another. Eventually, the girl left her family behind her; not wanting to be thrust into an arranged marriage, and went to travel on through the land by herself at age 19. Since then, she has become a well-seasoned traveller, used to the harshness of the wild and in control of her shifting abilities.

While Adara wasn't particularly pleased with the circumstances surrounding her arrival, she couldn't help but be at least a little happy she managed to nab such a quaint little house. The space was limited, but just perfect for the style Adara liked to live in. Comfortably and, preferably, alone. She was finally unpacked, however, and busy at work organizing her books. There were stacks upon stacks of cracked journals, hardy old classics, and even new books that managed to pique the girl's interests; all waiting to be stored in the large wall space allotted for such works. Music flowed softly from a nearby speaker, and Adara couldn't help but hum along as she haphazardly ascended a ladder, a large stack of books cradled in one arm like a precious child. She stopped periodically to put a book in its place, until she finally got to the top; her book pile a little smaller than before. The Italian carefully pushed book after book into the top row, organizing them automatically by letter. She decided that all of her journals would go on the top, mostly because they're less of a burn risk up there, as well as all of her favorite books. Little Women was up there, as well as the entire Harry Potter series, Game of Thrones (because dragons), The Scarlet Letter, and more mixes of modern and classic books than one should write out fully. For simplicities sake, there was a lot of books on the top shelf; but Adara was lucky enough that it was a rather large shelf in itself.
With two books balanced in her hands, Adara reached up to place another book in its place when she finally lost her balance. A loud shriek let loose from her lips, and then promptly afterward a burst of fire. "S**t!" She thought as her back connected with the ground, the wind knocked out of her body as soon as the thud of a burnt book sounded through the room. Adara was luck enough that the scales on her back protected her from further injury, but the book in her hand was smoking and burnt to pieces. Nothing more could've ruined her chill mood than a ruined book, and although she was grateful that she didn't burn any other books; The Phantom of The Opera was one of her favorite classics, she was rather sad to see it go.
A light sigh escaped Adara's lips as she sat up, rubbing her head before sitting up and reaching for the dustpan, which was just out of reach. No point in letting it sit there in ashes, plus it was still kinda smoking; and that was non va bene. The girl crawled to her feet, her mouth still crackling lightly from the recent burst of fire that spouted from it. She kinda wished she knew how to control it, but it is what it is, and there was nothing she could do to change it. "Questo fuoco è davvero sfuggendo di mano, quanto fastidio!" Adara let the Italian slip out without thinking about it, and though nobody was around she corrected herself anything. "I mean, err, this fire thing is getting out of hand, what a bother..." a quiet and concise statement, but the truth nonetheless. Even though the English spilling forth from her lips sounded awkward and just.. odd, to her at least, the girl felt she better start speaking the language again if she wished to succeed. Though she felt Italian suited her more.
After all, its not like just because she was speaking Italian people would be making connections to her past, and in such, to the tales spread across the world of the dragon-girl of Vogogna. It's not like anybody believed the stories anyways, so Adara felt that she had nothing to worry about. She definitely wouldn't be screwing anything up around these parts; and if she just kept to herself the girl felt she would be alright, more or less. The girl grabbed the dust-pan, sweeping up the ashes of her now ruined book and walking swiftly to thee kitchen; dumping the remains into the trash harshly before turning to look out the window. Studying the neighbors house quietly before getting lost in her own thoughts, as per custom with the girl.

Personality
|| Independent ||
Akira is a fiercely independent young woman, and she does not take well to being told what to do with herself. She will not bring her issues up with other people unless she cares about them deeply, and chooses not to deal with other people's issues either. Akira prefers to be alone in everything she does, and will rarely spend more than ten minutes with another being. However, that does not mean she doesn't have her soft spots for other people, and she is rather fond of children. || Angry ||
When it comes to the world around her, Akira has a tendency to get angered by her surroundings and situations frequently, and she has a quick temper. She dislikes the treatment of her people by the other races, and though she is not in a position to do anything about it, she always tries to advocate for change when the opportunity arises. However, if people aren't as receptive for the same change, Akira's anger peaks and she briefly loses control. || Proud ||
Akira is an extremely proud young shapeshifter, and firmly believes she deserves everything that she has worked for. If she feels like she is insulted, or that she has been spited in one way, her aforementioned anger will kick in and she will not be a happy camper. However, this trait does lead her to have very good self-esteem, so she rarely feels insecure about herself! || Charming ||
Despite her drawbacks (i.e. angry and cold), once you get to know her Akira is very charming as a person. If not super angry, she has a way with people that makes them feel drawn to her. She's funny, and good at cracking jokes during pressing times, which some people believe to be a good quality in a person. Akira can work a crowd like nobodies business, though normally she tries not to, due to the fact that while she may be good at it; she does not enjoy interacting with others.
