True Name: Tabbrishchi Alummni Yvolton
Nickname(s): Tabbris
Played by: Draco
Age: 187
Date of Birth: June 9th
Sexuality: Bisexual
Kith: Wood Elf/Water Fairy
Abilities:
Cold Immunity- The character will feel normal until ten degrees below freezing. Anything colder than that will only be a little uncomfortable at worst.
Loyalty: Forest of the Fae
Status/Occupation: Local healer and alchemist
Appearance:
Tabbris is a young man of a lithe stature. He is roughly the same size as his brethren, but just the tiniest bit taller at exactly six-foot. He does not have a particularly muscled build beyond his arms and calloused hands from the years of pulling back a drawstring of a longbow, which was always a favorite past time of his. His face is heart shaped and can seem very welcoming and friendly, and his soft jaw-line and long pointed ears give him a touch of femininity in his features. His eyes are downturned and shaded with a lovely sea-foam green. Against his fair, pale skin, the eyes tend to be the first feature others note of him. Unlike pure fairies, he does not have any wings, nor was he born with any. Tabbris likes to keep his hair at a moderate length and never really going past his ears. Sorel is the main base color of his hair, but is smoothly highlighted by small strands of auburn.
More accustomed to human and shifter lifestyles, Tabbris enjoys wearing fine robes when he can afford them, comfortable breeches, or very loose fitting tunics. He does own a fine, very light set of chainmail and sets of gambesons and tabards for them. Studying plants and gathering herbs can be quite dangerous, as he would need adequate protection from hostile wildlife or humanoids. The only weapon he is proficient with is a longbow, but for safety purposes he may carry a saxe knife or two with him.
Aberlas; A female venalsaurus who stands taller than Tabbris and is also wider. She is an intelligent creature that considers Tabbris as a nest mate and, if not spoken against so, will attack any that come within her vicinity. Somewhat independent, she tends to run off and hunt while Tabbris is doing his own runs. Found as an egg, Tabbris raised her since hatching, and thus why he is the only one not of her kind that she can tolerate.
Personality:
Helpful; As per his occupation, Tabbris takes pride in helping people via healing and cleansing herbs. He enjoys brewing up new concoctions to further enhance any healing process. Alas, his wares and help tend to be rather expensive since it costs him a lot of coin to leave his business unmanned while going out to gather material. Graciously he may help someone whether they can afford it or not.
Anxious; Worry wart is a term that can easily describe this far. He tends to irrationally fear a lot of situations, such as leaving a long hallway to enter a tiny room, or taking sharp turns. He especially has an irrational fear of equines. Social anxiety is perhaps the one thing he does not have to deal with beyond talking with other fae. The most common form of anxiety he experiences is whether a concoction will kill him, or whether or not he's able to safely heal someone's wounds.
Gregarious; Being an extrovert makes socialization an easy process, and he loves it. He mostly enjoys learning about other species' customs and habits, versus what he know about fae habits. While he tends to avoid talking about any of his fears or confronting his anxiety, he will gladly share recipes and healing salves with others interested in the art.
Spiritual; This is probably the personality trait he keeps most to himself, but Tabbris is not religious at all. He believed that the gods exist, but he takes no part in worshipping them or actively trying to please them. Living with the belief that the gods enjoy doing their own thing and do not actively care about fae, humans, shifters, or daemons allows him to be at peace with the idea of being away from his kin. Incense burning also gives him calming feelings when he feels a familiar, overwhelming urge to return to the Mound as most fae do.
Outcast; Part of the reason Tabbris has no desire to return to the mound is due to him being just this. He has very little interest in fae customs and is much more fascinated by humans, shifters, and daemons. While he does not necessarily study them, he enjoys learning from them. A lack of religion tends to be another major reason to his being an outcast. If he ever did return, there's not a doubt in his mind that he'd just be excluded from social activities or thrown out of the mound altogether for breaking so many (what he considers conservative) customs of the fae.
History:
Tabbris had a very conservative and dull family. His father, a water fairy, was one of the council members who was obsessed with tradition. Unlike his father, his mother was a Wood Elf that was much more open minded to change. The two fae first had a daughter , Talia, at a young age. A decade later, they decided to have another child, and that was when Tabbris and his twin brother, Dulthgar were born. Talia was already doing her own thin in the Mound, and was striving to become some form of council member even as a half breed, against her father's discretion.
Every year, Tabbris and Dulthgar would celebrate the changing of the season. They would learn reading and writing from scholarly faes from the library, and then would listen to their father's advice against shifters and humans. And every year, Tabbris would grow bored of these teaching and wander off into the Forest of the Fae to play with the animals and to practice shooting his bow. Dulthgar was notorious for walking in their father's shoes, and would always call Tabbris out on being weird and an unnatural fae for having no interest in their old traditions. A sibling rivalry grew between the one that wanted to be anything but his father, and the one who wanted to be exactly like his father.
Curiosity was getting the better of Tabbris, and he started actively trying to do everything his father wanted him to do. He was always talking to his mother about wanting to go outside the Forest of the Fae and meeting humans and shifters. She never really encouraged him to set out and do what he wanted, but she never discouraged him either. Later on, she advised Tabbris to visit his older sister, Talia, as she spent a lot of time in the fae library, reading books on human politics.
He was young and brash at that point when he went to go visit his sister for the first time. Rebellion seemed appropriate against his "oppressive" father, so he took the opportunity the minute he could. Talia was not was he expected, but she was much like their mother and was very helpful in showing him different sets of text that he would enjoy reading. There was when he crossed the art of healing, and grew an intense desire to go out and help people. With the knowledge that the fae had from thousands of years, he could easily assist other species.
The very idea was blasphemy to their family. Dulthgar never hesitated to inform their father of this discovery. When Tabbris returned to his home, he was treated coldly and cruelly. His father even debated exiling him, but it was his mother that stopped such a thing from happening. Tabbris was rather set on leaving however, and brashly took off.
Going further and further away from the mound had a toll on his health after a time. He noticed that he felt an overwhelming feeling of abandonment and urge to return. He could no longer be away, and returned to his family. Tabbris was still determined to leave, despite Dulthgar's teasing, and he returned to the library to research how he could force himself to comfortably leave the fae.
Years and years of research paid off. Tabbris gathered his things in the middle of the night after his sudden epiphany and headed off towards Spirit. The only family he told was Talia and his mother. That time, it had been much easier for him to leave. It took a few weeks to finally exit the Forest of the Fae, but once he did he had never been happier in his life.
So many new experiences, so many new sights, they were a lot to take in at Spirit. It took time, but eventually he was able to build a steady life off of an apprenticeship with a local healer and alchemist. It took more years of training till he felt comfortable to go on his own, and even then he had to prepare himself for gathering herbs and ingredients. Thus was when his bowmanship came to good use, as he never stopped the practice. There was a point where he came across and abandoned egg and originally was going to use it for some form of experiment, till it hatched and he formed a bond with the rare raptor. Later, a combination of skill and studying led him to owning his own business in Spirit and leaving him where he is currently.
